Setting up Axmo

/setup walks you through the essentials one step at a time, in a private panel only you can see. Every step is optional, and you can change any of it later with /settings.

The steps are the same pages /settings shows, so every change saves and is logged just as it would be there.

/setup needs the Manage Server permission in Discord and Axmo’s guild.settings.manage permission. Server permissions can’t be put in a permission group, so in practice only the server owner can run it.

Run /setup, read the welcome card, and press Start. Use Back and Next to move between steps.

  1. General

    • Plan: your server’s plan.
    • Language: the language of Axmo’s logs and DMs. It follows your server’s default unless you choose another.
    • Notifications channel: where moderators’ notices go, from /follow and when a workspace is about to expire, for moderators who pick it over DMs with /notifications.
  2. Logging

Choose a channel for each kind of log: Moderation, Messages, Members, Voice and Server. Leave one empty to not log it. See Audit logging for what goes where.

  3. Permissions

Your server’s permission groups, what each allows, and the roles linked to them. Your server starts with four groups: viewer, helper, moderator and administrator. Link your staff roles to the right group here, or they won’t be able to use Axmo. See Permissions.

  4. Plugins

Turn optional features on. Every optional plugin starts off. Plugins are grouped into Enforcement, Tools, Automated protection, Reports, and Logging and review, and each category has a button to turn all of it on or off at once.

  5. Health check

Lists anything that would stop a setting working, and says where to fix it, like a Discord permission Axmo is missing for a plugin you just turned on.

When you’ve been through every step, you’ll see a summary. Press Finish to close the wizard.

Turning a plugin on doesn’t finish setting it up. Most plugins have their own page in /settings. These need setting up before they do anything:

Plugin What to set up
Tickets A ticket category. See Tickets.
Appeals An appeals channel. See Appeals.
Automod The rules to turn on. See Automod.
Raid protection Raid detection. See Raid protection.
Mass actions The Mass commands switch. See Mass actions.
