Introduction

Axmo is a moderation bot for Discord communities. It handles the everyday work of moderating a server:

  • Moderation actions: bans, kicks, mutes and warnings, each recorded as a numbered case.
  • Evidence: messages gathered while you investigate, kept on cases and notes.
  • Reports: members report people and messages, and talk to your staff through Axmo’s DMs.
  • Appeals: members ask for an action to be reconsidered, and your moderators decide.
  • Automated protection: automod rules, automation rules that escalate repeat offences, and raid protection.
  • Logs and insights: detailed logs of what happens in your server, and figures on how your moderation is going.
Term What it means
Plugin A feature your server turns on or off, like Tickets or Automod.
Case The record of one ban, kick, mute, warning, unban or unmute, numbered per server. See Cases.
Item A piece of evidence, like a message, attached to a case, note or appeal.
Note A private remark about a member that only moderators see. See Notes.
Ticket A private conversation between a member and your staff, opened by a report. See Tickets.
Permission What a command needs, like mod_actions.ban. See Permissions.
Permission group A list of permissions. Roles are linked to groups, and members get whatever their groups allow.

Every optional plugin starts off, so a new server only has the essentials until you choose what you want. Turn plugins on during /setup or on the Plugins page of /settings.

The Plugins page groups them like this:

Category Plugins
Enforcement Mod actions, Cases, Appeals
Tools Notes, Workspaces, Snippets, Utilities
Automated protection Automod, Raid protection
Reports Tickets, Voice recording
Logging and review Audit log, Insights

Settings and Meta are required and always on. They provide /setup, /settings, /permissions, /schedule, /notifications, /about and /ping.

Discord roles alone don’t give anyone access to Axmo’s commands. Each server sets up permission groups and links roles to them. The server owner can do everything, and nobody else, not even a Discord Administrator, can do anything until they’re in a group. See Permissions.

Each server is on one of three plans: Starter Plus or Pro. Most of Axmo works the same on every plan. The few features and limits that depend on the plan are marked with a badge, and listed in full on Plans. Your server’s plan is shown on the General page of /settings.

Axmo’s logs and DMs are in the language chosen on the General page of /settings. Slash commands appear in each person’s Discord language when a translation exists. Axmo is in English only for now.

  • Getting started: for server owners. Inviting Axmo, running /setup, permissions and the settings panel.
  • Features: for owners and moderators. How each plugin works, how to set it up, and the commands and permissions it uses.
  • For members: reporting someone, talking to staff, appealing, and the messages Axmo sends you.
  • Reference: every command and permission, what each plan includes, troubleshooting, and the changelog.
